Gender: Update on Recent Articles
During my research for this week, I found many articles relating back to recent posts, so this will be an update on many things: the trans* facilities policy at University of Pittsburgh, ENDA, how other colleges and universities are handling gender issues, trans* rights in Baltimore County, and the I AM: Trans People Speak Project.

President Obama wanted to share by Twitter what he has achieved for the LGBTQ community.
LGBT Benefits Legislation Introduced
A legislation ensuring that in many cases COBRA benefits would be available for LGBT Americans if their partner quits or loses its job has been introduced in the House and in the Senate.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Wants Equality
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said “he would push gay marriage bill to pass the Legislature this session.”
Hawaii House Passed Civil Unions
Hawaii, the House of Representatives approved civil unions for gay and lesbian couples.
A new city is added to the list of cities which fight against discrimination based on gender identity. The city of Columbia in Missouri passed the law unanimously.
Lawsuit Against Michigan Health Care Discriminatory Law
The American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Michigan decided to file a lawsuit to fight against a discriminatory new law which prohibits a lot of public entities to provide health care insurance to their employees’ domestic partners.
